Throughout my years as a midwife, I have been drawn to the areas of care where families often need the most understanding, time and compassion.
Alongside pregnancy and postnatal care, I offer specialist support for families navigating more complex or emotionally sensitive experiences. These are moments where thoughtful guidance, calm reassurance and experienced care can make a profound difference.
My work in these areas has been shaped not only by my clinical training, but also by years of listening to families, understanding their experiences and supporting them through both joyful and challenging times.
Bereavement & Pregnancy Loss Support
Experiencing the loss of a pregnancy or baby can be deeply painful and isolating.
Having worked as a Bereavement Midwife for over two years, and continuing my involvement supporting families through my volunteer work with The Lily Mae Foundation, I provide compassionate, sensitive support for families navigating miscarriage, stillbirth or neonatal loss.
This may include emotional support, guidance through the healthcare system, or support during a future pregnancy following loss.
Grief does not follow a timeline, and families deserve space, understanding and continuity of care as they navigate their journey.
Pregnancy After Loss
Pregnancy following loss can bring a complex mixture of hope, anxiety and uncertainty.
I support families during these pregnancies with additional guidance, reassurance and space to talk through the emotional aspects of this experience, helping them feel more supported as they move forward.
Fertility Foundations
For many families, the journey into parenthood begins long before pregnancy. I offer guidance and education around preparing for pregnancy, understanding fertility health and navigating early steps on the path to becoming parents.
Young Parent & Safeguarding-Informed Support
Earlier in my career I worked closely with young parents and families navigating complex social circumstances. This experience gave me a deep understanding of how important supportive, non-judgemental care can be during pregnancy and early parenthood.
My approach in this work focuses on education, empowerment and creating safe spaces for young parents to feel supported and confident.
Birth Trauma & Birth Reflections
Birth experiences can stay with us long after the day itself. For some women, birth may feel confusing, overwhelming or traumatic. Having the opportunity to talk through what happened in a supportive, informed environment can be an important step towards understanding and healing.
Birth reflection sessions provide space to revisit your birth experience, understand the events that took place and explore any emotional impact that may still be present.
A Thoughtful, Individual Approach
Every family’s story is different, and the support I offer is always guided by the individual needs of those I am working with.
My role is to create a space where families feel heard, respected and supported, particularly during experiences that can often feel complex or overwhelming.
