Postnatal-Care

Specialist postnatal care supporting both mother and baby through the fourth trimester.

The weeks following birth are one of the most physically and emotionally significant transitions in a woman’s life. Yet many families receive very little support once they leave hospital.

In my years as a midwife, I have seen how a lack of postnatal care, education, and reassurance can impact mothers and families,  not only in the first weeks after birth, but sometimes for years afterwards. Many parents tell me they felt unprepared for the reality of the early days with a newborn.

My role is to provide calm, evidence-based support so you feel confident, informed, and cared for as you recover from birth and begin life with your baby. Through enhanced one-to-one postnatal care, I support your physical recovery, emotional wellbeing, and your baby’s early development, helping you navigate the fourth trimester with reassurance and confidence.

My Approach to Postnatal Care

The postpartum period is one of the most vulnerable times in a woman’s life.

My aim is to ensure you feel supported, informed, and cared for as you recover from birth and transition into parenthood.

Together we create a calm, supportive space where you can ask questions, process your experience, and receive expert guidance as you navigate the early weeks with your baby.

Postnatal Planning (Before Baby Arrives)

Preparing for the weeks after birth is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself and your family.

Postnatal planning allows us to explore the reality of the early days with your baby, helping you feel prepared, supported, and confident.

Together we will look at:

• Feeding options and preparation

• Preparing your home environment

• Equipment and essentials for your baby

• Nourishment and meal planning for recovery

• Understanding the first 72 hours after birth

• Your baby’s transition from womb to world

• Visitor boundaries and expectations

• Your support network and delegating roles

• Sleep expectations in the early days

• Welcoming your baby home

Creating a simple framework for the first weeks helps reduce overwhelm and allows you to focus on rest, recovery, and bonding with your baby.

Partners, grandparents, and members of your support network are welcome to be part of this session.
