Birth Recovery Clinic at Daleswood Health

The Birth Recovery Clinic, based at Daleswood Health, offers a calm and supportive space dedicated to helping mothers recover after birth.

Created by Lara Taylor, Specialist Midwife and Miriam, Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, the clinic brings together clinical midwifery care and specialist physical recovery support in one place. Our shared aim is to ensure women receive the time, expertise and personalised guidance they need during the often-overlooked weeks following birth.

Recovery after birth is not only physical. Many women are navigating healing, feeding their baby, changes in their body, and the emotional transition into motherhood. The Birth Recovery Clinic provides a space where these experiences can be understood, supported and cared for with expertise and compassion.

Women are welcome to attend at any stage during the early weeks and months after birth, whether their birth was straightforward or more complex.

Appointments may include support with:

• Full maternal postnatal assessments

• Recovery following caesarean birth

• Scar and wound assessment and care

• Recovery after assisted or physically demanding births

Education and reassurance in the early weeks with your baby

Our aim is to ensure mothers leave their appointment feeling informed, supported and confident in their recovery.

A collaborative approach to postnatal recovery

By bringing together specialist midwifery care and postnatal rehabilitation, the Birth Recovery Clinic offers mothers a level of postnatal support that is rarely available in one place.  This collaborative approach allows us to support both the clinical aspects of recovery and the body’s physical rehabilitation, helping mothers heal well, regain confidence in their movement, and feel supported as they adjust to life with their baby.
